Gaolan Island

The island is integrated into Gaolan Port, which holds the world’s largest ocean engineering base. With an area of 34.2 sq km, Gaolan Island is connected to Nanshui Town on land by a dike, and has access to both expressways and railways. It is adjacent to the Daxi Watercourse in the South China Sea, and previously was a natural navigation mark on the ancient Maritime Silk Road. Gaolan Island, one of the birthplaces of China’s marine civilization, is captivating tourists with its grand hub port, charming sceneries, and water recreation activities.
