The quadripartite cooperation agreement is expected to enhance XJTU's cooperation with Colombian universities and enterprises.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Xi'an Rail Transit Group Co, China Harbour Engineering Co, and Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito signed an agreement on Nov 30 to establish the Bogota Rail Transit Joint College.

Shan Zhiwei, vice-president of XJTU, said that this cooperation enables the university to support the Belt and Road Initiative and promote the joint advancement of education and industry overseas.

As the initiating unit of the University Alliance of the Silk Road, XJTU has established cooperative relationships with 207 universities in 45 countries and regions. This cooperation marks the extension of the alliance's collaboration from Eurasia to Latin America, entering a new stage of development.

XJTU's jointly established Future Technology Innovation Research Institute of Rail Transit with Shaanxi Rail Transit Group Co has already achieved breakthroughs in intelligence and green transformation, laying a solid foundation for this international cooperation.

XJTU will utilize its disciplinary and platform advantages to further support academic and research exchanges between Chinese and Colombian faculty and students, building the Bogota Rail Transit Joint College into a bridge for China-Colombia infrastructure cooperation and cultural exchanges.

As XJTU's first cooperative platform in Latin America, the college will adopt a co-construction model of "Chinese enterprises + Chinese universities + local enterprises + local universities" to advance technological cooperation, talent cultivation, and cultural exchanges, and deepen the China-Latin America comprehensive cooperative partnership.
