During the opening of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR) Education Cooperation Forum on March 20, Shan Zhiwei, vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), met with Sultanov Djamshid Bakhodirovich, vice-rector of Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT), located in Uzbekistan.

The two sides were engaged in discussions of past cooperation and the future potential cooperation opportunities.

Shan stated that TUIT, as one of the members of the UASR, has been in close touch with XJTU. XJTU is glad to further exchanges and cooperate with TUIT in student training, training of scientific personnel, research projects, and other areas.

Bakhodirovich stated that the establishment of XJTU's Innovation Center in TUIT, Uzbekistan, has laid a solid foundation for cooperation between the two universities. He also stated that he is looking forward to deeper exchanges in information technology, informatics, and technology management in the future.
