Andreas Klemmer, the Director of Training at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), and Carlotta Clivio, associate programme officer of ITCILO, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) on Dec 5.
Shan Wenhua, assistant president of XJTU, met with Klemmer and his delegation.
Shan introduced the university regarding its talent cultivation, scientific research, campus culture, and international exchange cooperation. He said XJTU is dedicated to enhancing students' international perspectives and responsibilities by providing them with abundant policy and resource support.
Furthermore, he hoped that by establishing cooperation with ITCILO, more resources and opportunities could be offered to students and faculty at XJTU.
Andreas Klemmer provided an overview of ITCILO. Through this visit, he hoped to deepen collaboration with XJTU, explore innovative models for integrating resources, platforms, and channels, and become a more closely connected global partner.
On that afternoon, a lecture titled "The Social Dimensions of Sustainable Development: Accelerating Positive Change with the International Labour Organization" was held, with over 100 faculty and students participating.
Since 2019, nearly 200 outstanding students from XJTU have participated in exchange and training programs organized by ITCILO, both online and offline.
On Nov 30, 2022, XJTU and ITCILO held an online signing ceremony for a cooperation memorandum, formally establishing a partnership.
The two sides have collaborated to host the fourth and fifth editions of the Global Governance Innovation Youth Talent Training Camp at XJTU.
