United Nations agencies visited and held an exchange symposium at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbour on Nov 28, which was attended by Wang Shuguo, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and Li Qing, deputy secretary-general of the China Scholarship Council.

Wang extended a warm welcome to the guests. He highlighted XJTU's efforts and achievements in helping outstanding students find internships or jobs at international organizations.

Over the past six years, the university has seen over 100 students intern or work in international organizations, with more than 800 students participating in training, visits, and exchanges with such organizations. The university is committed to encouraging more students to explore the world and actively engage in international affairs.

Ms. Rossella Salvia, head of the Learning and Development Center of the Human Resources Department of the UNESCO, stated that the event is of great significance, as it represents a crucial collaboration between the United Nations system, international organizations, the Chinese government, and universities. China has provided tremendous support for international organization internship programs, and its universities have contributed a large number of talented individuals with a strong sense of mission.

Ms. Salvia expressed her hope of further deepening cooperation, enhancing capabilities, and the pursuit of common goals by young people from diverse backgrounds worldwide, contributing to global governance efforts.
