President Zhanseit Tuimebayev of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University embarked on a visit to Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) on May 19, forging a path towards enhanced cooperation and mutual growth between the two esteemed institutions. Welcoming the delegation with open arms, XJTU President Wang Shuguo held productive discussions with Tuimebayev centered around deepening their collaborative relationship, conducting joint scientific research, and nurturing talent in relevant fields.

The meeting also witnessed the presence of XJTU Vice-President Xi Guang, Assistant to the President Shan Wenhua, heads of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the School of International Education, and faculty members from the School of Law.

Expressing warm hospitality, Wang commended the active engagement of XJTU in fostering partnerships with universities in Central Asia. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University had been among the pioneering institutions to join the University Alliance of the Silk Road, initiated by XJTU in 2015, serving as an executive member unit. Through this platform, both universities have vigorously facilitated faculty and student exchanges, as well as collaborative research endeavors.

The successful convening of the China-Central Asia Summit served as a catalyst, offering a wide-ranging platform for educational cooperation between the two nations. Wang voiced his hopes for future collaboration, urging the two universities to join forces and make significant contributions towards the establishment of a China-Central Asia community with a shared educational future.

Tuimebayev described his visit to XJTU as opportune, expressing enthusiasm for deepening inter-university exchanges and cooperation, capitalizing on the China-Central Asia Summit. Acknowledging XJTU's status as the most influential university in northwestern China, he emphasized its immense value and importance as a pivotal partner for Kazakhstan. Providing an extensive overview of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University's academic prowess, discipline rankings, research capabilities, and global influence, Tuimebayev extended an invitation to XJTU to participate in their upcoming 90th-anniversary celebration.
