Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) won 32 awards at the Shaanxi Science and Technology Innovation Conference recently held in the provincial capital city of Xi'an.

Professor Zheng Nanning, also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, won the highest science and technology award in Shaanxi province. The other 31 awards were given in recognition of the contributions of the university in scientific research.

Thirteen XJTU professors won first prize as the first person in charge of their projects. Foreign expert Jiri Klemes from MOE Key Laboratory of Thermo-Fluid Science and Engineering at the university won the Shaanxi International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

The university ranked first this year in the province in terms of the number of awards they garnered. The number of first-class awards won by the university this year was nearly twice the number in 2019.
