The General Office of the Ministry of Education of China has announced the 2020 list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Twenty majors at Xi'an Jiaotong University were approved as 2020 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, increasing the total number of national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites at the university to 40. 

Starting in 2019, China has planned to build 10,000 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 10,000 provincial-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites in a three-year period.

Xi'an Jiaotong University attaches great importance to undergraduate major construction, and began the preparations for the application in May.
