On February 23, 2021, China Construction Industry Association revealed the first group of organizations to be awarded the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Prime-quality Project) 2020-2021, among which iHarbour's architectural complex made the list. This construction project at iHarbour was undertaken by Xi'an Jiaotong University Science & Technology Innovation Harbour Development Co., Ltd. in the Xixian New Area with Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation Limited as the contractor. 

The construction of iHarbour began on March 25, 2017, and was completed on April 22, 2019. On June 12, 2019, it was put into service. On September 7, 2019, the first group of XJTU teachers and students started their work, study, and life there.
