In 2019, 104 top-notch student training bases for basic disciplines were selected. Recently, the Ministry of Education of China's general office announced the list of top-notch student training bases for basic disciplines of 2020 (2.0). After two rounds of application in 2019 and 2020, XJTU's 5 disciplines: mathematics, physics, computer science, mechanics, and basic medicine were included. This epitomizes the arduous efforts XJTU has made in the overall planning and cultivation of top-notch talents in recent years.

On February 4, 2021, the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education of China issued 10 major tasks for 2021, designating the building and development of top-notch student training bases as this year's key task.
