On December 10, 2020, the 2020 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Application was held in Xi'an. The conference was organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, and jointly sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Government Education Department, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and other institutions of higher learning. About 850 academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs from China, Russia, Germany, Singapore, Japan, Serbia, Italy, and other countries participated in online and offline activities.

Xi Guang, XJTU's vice-president, and Zhang Junhua, vice-chairman of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, jointly unveiled the Belt and Road Engineering Science and Technology Knowledge Service and Training Center. The Center will strive to createa good atmosphere for regional science and technology integration, serve national development strategies, and seek common well-being for countries along the Belt and Road.
