The World Robot Contest Finals 2020 was held from December 3-7, 2020, with over 30,000 teams from all over the world gathering for the event. XJTU sent two teams – Xijiao Stars and Xiaojiao – to the AI Exploration Competition, and XJTU1 and XJTU4 – to the VEX Robotics Competition. Xijiao Stars and Xiaojiao won almost all the championships. They were the tournament champion, the tournament runner-up, the items searching champion, and the items classification champion. XJTU1 and XJTU4 were shortlisted to the final eights.

Organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), the World Robot Contest has been successfully held for five sessions since 2015, attracting over 120,000 competitors from about 20 countries. It is an official robotic competition with extensive global influence.
