Five XJTU alumni win the 2020 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Achievement Award

The Ho Leung Jo Lee Foundation Science and Technology Achievement Award was announced on November 3, 2020. XJTU alumni Luo Qi and Song Yonghua won the Science and Technology Progress Award, while Li Jinmin, Lu Junyong, and Wei Shizhong won the Science and Technology Innovation Award.

Luo Qi studied engineering thermophysics in XJTU from 1988 to 1991 and obtained a Master's degree. He is currently the Chair of CPC China Institute of Atomic Energy Committee.

Song Yonghua was invited as a distinguished professor of XJTU in 2001 and is presently the University of Macau's president.

Li Jinmin studied Semi conductors in XJTU from 1978 to 1982 and is currently the director of the Institute of Semi conductor, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Lu Junyong, graduated from XJTU with a Master's degree in electrical engineering in 2004 and is now working at a research institute of the Naval University of Engineering.

Wei Shizhong graduated from XJTU with a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2005, is currently the vice-chair of Luoyang CPPCC, and the vice president of Henan University of Science and Technology.

The Ho Leung Lo Lee Foundation is registered in Hong Kong for science and technology awards and was jointly funded by four Hong Kong patriotic financiers: Ho Sin-hang, Leung Kau Kui, Ho Tim, and Sir Quo-wei Lee. By rewarding Chinese scientific and technological workers who have made outstanding achievements, this fund was established to advocate the social custom of respecting knowledge, talents, and science and encouraging science and technology workers to strive for advances in science and technology research.
