Huang Xuhua, an alumnus of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), won the 2019 Preeminent Science and Technology Award of China at the awarding ceremony held in Beijng on January 10, 2020 
As an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Huang Xuhua, has made significant contributions to China's nuclear submarine development. He has been the chief designer of nuclear submarines and in charge of several experiments of carrier rocket launches by nuclear submarines. He was honored as the “Father of Chinese Nuclear Submarine”.
