At 20:45 p.m., on December 27, 2019, the Long March-5 Y3 carrier rocket blasted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan Province. Some 33 minutes into the flight, it successfully placed the Shijian 20 experimental satellite into a geosynchronous orbit. XJTU professor, Xu Zili; XJTU alumni, Wang Jue; and other XJTU alumni participated in the launch. Wang Jue was in charge of the whole process.
