Four XJTU alumni were included in Forbes 30 Under 30 (China)

Recently, the 2019 edition of Forbes 30 Under 30 (China) was released. Six-hundred young elites under age 30 in fields of innovation and entrepreneurship were selected. Those 600 young elites were entrepreneurs and game-changers born after January 1, 1989. “From innovating in technology and disrupting age-old industries to demonstrating immense talent and dominating the world stage, this group of young stars shines in more ways than one.”

According to incomplete statistics, four XJTU alumni were included in the list.

Zhou Zijian studied in XJTU's School of Energy and Power Engineering from 2008 to 2012 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Energy and Power Engineering Systems and Automation. In 2012, he was recommended to the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion of Huazhong University of Science and Technology for a program involving continuous Master's and Doctorate study. After receiving his doctorate, Zhou has stayed at the laboratory for follow-up studies on environmental protection of energy resources. Thus far, he has published nearly 30 articles in SCI-indexed journals and has presided over 6 programs funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) or which are included in the National Key Research Program of China.

Zhang Xiangyu, graduated from XJTU in 2017 with a doctorate, is now in charge of the basic models team at Megivv, a world-class AI company. He has published over 20 articles in top international conferences and journals, such as the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV), Conference and Workshop on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS), and theI EEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI). He is also the champion of world top competitions on computer vision, including ImageNet in 2015 and COCO (Common Objects in Context) in 2015, 2017, and 2018. His master works include ResNet/ShuffleNet v1/v2 that have been widely used in the field.

Wang Haochong, enrolled by XJTU's Medicine and Engineering Cross-field Laboratory in 2016, is now the CEO of Xi'an Zhentai Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. Wang focused on brain-computer interface and rehabilitation robots at the university which is also the incubator of his company. His team also won the championship in the Global Innovation Design Competition of Medical Robotics (China), “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and so on. His company has won over 1 million in angel investment.

Chu Weimin, a young Chinese travelling photographer (Ins.: thomaschuphoto), was enrolled by XJTU's School of Mechanical Engineering in 2009. His book, Basic Post-processing Techniques for Landscape Photography, was one of the top 3 best sellers by JD.com. As the global champion in National Geographic's Travel Photo Contest and other world contests, he has over 2 million online followers.
