In Xi'an from June 24 to 28, 2019, the International Conference on Control of Turbulent Friction Drag, sponsored by the University of Nottingham (UK) and organized by Xi'an Jaotong University's School of Energy and Power Engineering and Institute of Science & Technology, was held. The conference was initiated and attended by the University of Nottingham, representatives of top universities in China and the world, such as Oxford University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), The French Aerospace Research Center, Johns Hopkins University (U.S.), Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, and Beihang University. The focus was on discussions about basic theories, methods, key technologies, and the latest progress and development trends of turbulent friction drag control. Associate Professor Mao Xuerui of the University of Nottingham and Professor Xi Guang of XJTU presided at the conference, and over 100 experts and postgraduates from 35 institutions in 6 countries attended.
