On June 25, 2019, the world first hyperthyroid rhesus monkey specimen“rejoined”its research team led by Professor Shi Bingyin of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU. The monkey showed clinical phenotypes of hyperthyroidism and was the part of the development of hyperthyroidism vaccine in the past 4 years at Kunming Institute of Zoology of Chinese Academy of Science. The research team successfully proved hyperthyroidism vaccine effect on rhesus monkey, which is a significant medical contribution to the world and laid the foundation for further hyperthyroidism vaccine development. This monkey specimen will continue to be utilized for further research by the team.
