Researchers of XJTU from the State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, Xi'an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy, and the School of Nano-Science and Nano-Engineering (Suzhou), collaborated and fabricated a multilayercarbon matrix toughened by cross-linked carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and decorated with conductive Cu agents via a controllable gelation process. This work broke the bottle neck of size effect of Si anode, and is expected to provide reference for the development and application of new generation of high-performance Si anode for Li-ion batteries.

The research result was published in ACS Nano(IF=13.709), an internationally recognized journal under the title In Situ Synthesis of Multilayer Carbon Matrix Decorated with Copper Particles: Enhancing the Performance of Si as Anode forLi-Ion Batteries.
