On the afternoon of November 9, 2018, Giuliano Noci, vice president of the Polytechnic University of Milan, and his delegation visited XJTU. XJTU president Wang Shuguo and vice president Xi Guang met with them in Room 107 of the XJTU Science Hall.

President Wang Shuguo expressed his full confidence in the work the two parties had done in discipline construction and his expectations for future cooperation. He suggested that the two parties strengthen cooperation in many fields, such as engineering and new energy, rely on the development of the Innovation Harbor and jointly build a new technology and education center in Xi'an, the starting point of the Ancient Silk Road. Vice president Giuliano Noci expressed the hope that 2020 would be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, and he hoped to take the opportunity to deepen the cooperation of the two parties, making it a model of bilateral cooperation between Italy and China in education, and reinforcing the profound friendship between the two countries.
