From November 5-10, 2018, the First China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai. During the Expo, XJTU, the only invited university in Shaanxi Province, participated in the Procurement Briefing and Contract Signing Ceremony of Shaanxi Province in the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Witnessed by Wei Zengjun, vice governor of Shaanxi Province, and other guests, XJTU vice president Wang Tiejun signed an import purchase contract with the principal of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

CIIE is the world's first import expo held at the national level and is a historical innovation of international trade. More than 3,000 companies from over 130 countries and regions participated in the Expo, including more than 200 companies listed on Fortune 500.
