From November 3-4, 2018, the qualification trials in China of the VEX Robotics World Championship 2018 were held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Nearly 260 teams and 2,000 students from 15 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across China participated in the trials, among which 13 teams came from top domestic universities including XJTU, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University and Harbin Institute of Technology. XJTU1 group of the XJTU VEX Robot Team won the championship of both the league and the skill competitions, and won the Creative Thought Design Award, demonstrating the strength of XTJU. XJTU 1 group will, on behalf of China, take part in the 2018-2019 VEX Robotics World Championship in April, 2019.
