On October 16, 2018, the UIA-HYP Cup 2018 International Student Competition in Architectural Design Jury Review Meeting was held at Southeast University, China. The work, Spring of Life, designed by undergraduate students from the Department of Architecture of the School of Human Settlements and Civil Engineering of XJTU, won the second prize and broke the record of XJTU students in previous competition series.

Huang Xiaoying, She Xinyi and Sun Wanqi, undergraduate students from the Department of Architecture, under the guidance of Feng Wei and Jia Jiandong, completed the design of Spring of Life by combining AI, VR, Internet and traditional Chinese culture in their work. Science and technology are used in the design to stimulate and revitalize traditional industries, bringing natural regeneration to the entire region, and reaching an ideal state of spatial coexistence, cultural symbiosis and resource sharing.
