On October 15, 2018, the Washington University Day was held at XJTU on the occasion of a visit from 14 guests from Washington University in St. Louis, the United States.

The delegation included the chancellor of Washington University in St. Louis, professor MarkWrighton, the vice chancellor for research and foreign affairs, the dean of Brown School, the supervisor of the summer program, and teacher representatives of the School of Engineering &Applied Science.

XJTU President Wang Shuguo gave a welcom speech and announced the opening of Washington University Day. He expressed the hope that world top universities would positively contribute to the development of the country and the world. XJTU and Washington University in St. Louis share a common view in this regard, therefore, the two universities will strengthen existing cooperation and make joint effort in promoting student exchange and the future international development.
