Professor Shan Zhiwei delivers a lecture entitled "Mechanical Testing Laboratory Inside TEM"to more than 2,000 delegates from all over the world.

Recently, the 19th International Microscopy Congress (IMC19) was held in the Sydney Conference Centre in Australia. ProfessorShan Zhiwei from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of XJTU, together with professor Dan Shechtman of theTechnion-Israel Institute of Technology,winner of the 2011 Nobel Prizein Chemistry, Dr Misty Jenkins of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, and Jennifer Dionne, associate professor of materials science and engineering at Stanford, were invited to present the plenary lecture at IMC19. This is the first time for a Chinese scholar to deliver a report at such international conferences, indicating that China’s research on electron microscopy has achieved world-class level.
