On the afternoon of September 26, 2018, the XJTU GTMC Yixing Formula Racing Team held a "Launch Event of the New Car for 2018 Season", at which the third-generation formula car independently developed by XJTU students over the last year was unveiled. Next month, the car will represent XJTU in the 2018 Formula Student China Competition (FSCC) in Xiangyang.

The FSCC is an automobile design and manufacturing competition involving teams of university students majoring in automotive engineering or automotive-related fields. The competition advocates independent innovation, and aims at cultivating and selecting talents for promoting development of the Chinese automobile industry. Teams from more than 80 universities are slated to participate in the 2018 FSCC.
