From September 3 to 4, 2018, the 2018 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing, marking a significant step of redefining China-Africa cooperation blueprint and development in the new area. During the summit, XJTU alumnus Yan Lijin, president of the China Silk Road Group and the China International Geo-information Corporation limited, had conversations with African leaders and signed important cooperation agreements as a representative of China.
