On the evening of August 24, 2018, XJTU and Baidu signed a strategic cooperation agreement for AI talent training at XJTU. XJTU vice president Zheng Qinghua and Baidu SVP (senior vice president) and AIG director Wang Haifeng, attended the signing ceremony and conferred awards on winners of the 4th XJTU-Baidu Big Data Competition.

The AI talent training strategy is an innovative trial by XJTU and Baidu in following the development of the times in expectations for joint cultivation of AI elites. Both parties promised to establish joint talent training programs, construct platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship, hold AI related competitions for undergraduates and carry out joint discipline and curriculum construction.
