On September 25, 2017, the Belt and Road Initiative Global Health International Congress &2017 Chinese Preventive Medicine Association – Chinese Society on Global Health Annual Meetingwas held in Xi'an.

Experts and scholars at home and abroad delivered academic reports and held seminars focusing on current important global health research to provide significant think-tank support for the health cooperation along the Belt and Road regions.

The congress was sponsored by the Health Science Center of XJTU and the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. XJTU Global Health Institute, the School of Public Health, the School of Public Policy and Administration, and the School of Pharmacy of XJTU were organizers.

During the opening ceremony of the congress, it was officially announced that the Sub-Alliance of Health of the University Alliance of the New Silk Road was established, with the mission of promoting China in making more contributions to global health and enhancing the international influence of China so as to provide academic and intellectual support for collaborative innovation of the Belt and Road regions.

Also, the publishing ceremony of the journal The Global Health (English Version) was also held during the congress. The journal focuses on the main challenges of global health, and provides solutions for global health management issues, aiming to guide people in updating their concept of global health, and carrying out system innovation.
