On the evening of August 21, 2017, a special concert of the UASR—"The Arts Communicate with Sciences" was held at Xi'an Concert Hall. This event, sponsored by the 13th IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering, was hosted by UASR, XJTU, and the Xi'an Conservatory of Music. The Chamber Orchestra of Xi'an Conservatory of Music played some Western classical music pieces and Chinese classical folk songs, such as the first chapter of the Violin Concerto in E major, and A Night of Flowers and Moonlight by the Spring Riveras a woodwind quintet. The audiences were touched by the performance.

"The Arts Communicate with Sciences" serial concerts were organized by XJTU scientists and musicians from Xi'an Conservatory of Music. These concerts innovatively explored the mysteries of the art and sciences, and have opened a new channel for people to improve their scientific and artistic literacy. It is regarded as the name card of UASR science and culture.

Since the beginning in 2012, the concerts have consistently received favorable receptions after they were held in numerous universities, such as Tsinghua University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
