The Eleventh XJTU American Alumni Association Meeting was held recently at Los Angeles. XJTU Board Chairman Zhang Maizeng and heads from School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Management, School of Life Science and Technology, School of Public Policy and Administration, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and Department of Alumni Relations attended the meeting.

On the meeting, XJTU Board Chairman Zhang Maizeng presented a brief introduction of XJTU in which he introduced reforms of XJTU in education and team building, Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor project, the University Alliance of the New Silk Road in alignment with the ‘one belt and one road’ initiatives, as well as new ideas on alumni relations.

On October 3 morning, chairman Zhang Maizeng held talks with Zhang Maozhong, president of Chiao Tung University. The two parties exchanged ideas on disciplinary excellence and development and reached a consensus on common areas of interest.

In the afternoon, chairman Zhang held a seminar with representatives from XJTU American Alumni Association.

XJTU alumni Lei Junzhao, the president of Jiaotong University Northern California Alumni Association and former president of XJTU Northern California Alumni Association initiated the XJTU American Alumni Foundation to support XJTU students. On the seminar, the XJTU Southern California Alumni Association founding ceremony was held. Chairman Zhang awarded a banner to the alumni and presented honorary certificates to honorary president Zhang Wei and president Liu Weiwei etc.
