Eurasian Economic Forum-XJTU Sub-Forum held

On the afternoon of September 24, the Eurasian Economic Forum-XJTU Sub-Forum and the Serial High-Level International Conference on XJTU 120th Anniversary were held at XJTU. President Wang Shuguo met the participating guests. VP Xi Guang and Director Liang Li of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges attended the meeting as well.

President Wang introduced to participants the initiative and goal of the University Alliance of the New Silk Road(UANSR). He mentioned UANSR vowed to create an international platform, which was open to more partner institutions.

President Wang also signed with President Fabio Rugge of University of Pavia a memorandum of understanding and witnessed the signing ceremony of Hacettepe University, Turkey, Charles Darwin University, Australia, Vistula University, Poland, and Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand as UANSR partner institutions.

Following the ceremony, the Eurasian Economic Forum-XJTU Sub-Forum and the Serial High-Level International Conference on XJTU 120th Anniversary were officially convened. The theme of the sub-forum was innovation of collaboration model and promotion of collaborative education. In his speech, VP XI Guang extended an invitation to all participating universities to join UANSR.

The President Yin Cheong Cheng of Tin Ka Ping Foundation in HK said the ‘one belt and one road’ initiative was of great importance to international collaboration. Professor Prosper Bernard of the Canadian University of Quebec at Montreal proposed China currently exported to the globe goods and education as well. Professor Fabio Rugge of University of Pavia, Italy, mentioned collaboration should keep the diversity of educational and academic collaboration and face competition with a decent attitude. APEID coordinator Libing Wang proposed the multilateral approach to international educational collaboration and further mentioned UNESCO should conduct its work from different perspectives.

On the afternoon of September 25, the Eurasian Economic Forum-Female Leadership Session was held. CEO Christie B. S. Lee of Lee Fair and Conference Ltd, South Korea, believed in a currently male dominated society, very few women could break down the ceiling and achieve success. CEO Hillary H Kim of Kam Be Co analyzed the female leadership in the aspects of its nature, balance of life and career, intuition and inspiration etc. Vice President Ho Kang of South Korean TYCO in Shanghai Office proposed the way women utilize their advantages and accordingly avert their disadvantages. Client Manager Jeonghee Park of Lufthansa Air, Germany, advocated females should relentlessly explore their own assets.
