On September 11, vice rector Giuliano Noci of the Polytechnic University of Milan (POLIMI) headed a delegation to XJTU to explore further solid institutional collaboration under the framework of the University Alliance of the New Silk Road (UANSR). President Wang Shuguo met the delegation. VP XI Guang, Zhang Hanrong, Director Liang Li of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and Chairman Bie Zhaohong of CPC Committee of School of Electrical Engineering also attended the meeting.

President Wang Shuguo expressed his warm welcome to the delegation. Vice rector Noci remarked the purposed of the visit was to discuss the design plan of the main building for the Joint Design School between XJTU and POLIMI. He elaborated upon the design plan from the four aspects of principles, tactics, techniques and functions etc to demonstrate brand-new modern design ideas. Subsequently, the two parties discussed about the design details.
