The first "New cup" Chinese graduate future aircraft innovation contest has been held recently. “VTOL unmanned shipboard reconnaissance aircraft" of the first team, and "Bionic Flapping Wing Micro aircraft innovation of design" of the 5Ls team in College of Astronautics of Xi'an Jiaotong University respectively won the first prize and the award of excellence. Xi'an Jiaotong University won the outstanding organization award.

Xi'an Jiaotong University submitted a total of 8 entries, 2 pieces to the finals. The third generation prototype of "VTOL unmanned reconnaissance aircraft carrier" won first prize in the contest. The third generation prototype was designed based on the new concept of the vertical take-off and landing of the rotor-Fixed Wing Cruise -fixed point observation.
