The New Silk Road Cup First Graduate Future Aircraft Innovation Contest was held recently. Team one of XJTU School of Aerospace earned the first prize with the VTOL shipborne unmanned scout, while the Team 5Ls of XJTU School of Aerospace got the second prize with the bio-inspired ornithopter micro-aircraft innovative design. XJTU was conferred the best organization prize.

XJTU presented eight competition works. Two items were admitted into the final. Team one of XJTU School of Aerospace presented the third-generation version of the VTOL shipborne unmanned aircraft. The aircraft is innovative in that it proposed the original design approach, from VTOL of spiral wing and patrolling of fixed wing to fixed point observation.
