On August 14, Universidad Ciencias Informáticas (UCI) president Miriam Nicado Gaarcia headed a delegation to XJTU. XJTU President Wang Shuguo met the delegation. VP Xu Guang, Director Liang Li of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and Associate Dean Jin Li of School of Software Engineering etc were also present on the meerting.

President Wang expressed XJTU's strong desire to collaborate with UCI in faculty and student exchange, academic research and joint degree programs etc.

UCI President Miriam Nicado Garcia confirmed her institution's participation into the University Alliance of the New Silk Road (UANSR) and hopes to collaborate with XJTU at medical care, big data and artificial intelligence etc, especially in the areas of robotics, automatic control, informatics and computer science etc.
