Xi’an Jiaotong University is a comprehensive university under direct jurisdiction of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It’s originally founded in Shanghai as Nanyang College in 1896 and is a reputable institution with over 100 years of tradition of excellence. 1 Funding Offer

XJTU will provide the successful applicants with sufficient and no-ceiling limit research start-up fund and institutional development fund as well as generous support for them to foster research teams. The successful applicants have the privilege to determine and issue the research allowances to its team out of the supporting fund in compliance with XJTU regulations. XJTU will also deliver generous logistic and living support, which is subject to further negotiation.

2. Requirements

The applicants should have a PhD degree. The foreign applicants should earn associate professorship or above or assume equivalent posts at a reputable university, while the Chinese applicants should have a professorship or take equivalent posts of a similar institution. Applicants in natural science fields should be less than 45 years old; social science applicants should be below 55 years old.

The Chinese Ministry of Education encourages the western mobility of talents from the eastern region and accordingly extends the age limit to two more years. Eligible applicants are strongly encouraged to apply at XJTU.

3. Application materials

Prospective applicants should email before July 10, 2015 their C.Vs which contain the personal info, contact info, academic and professional experiences, and a list of publications, research projects, patents and awards etc. After reaching an agreement with the school concerned and XJTU, applicants will be advised for follow-up procedures.
