In the morning of April 12, Yang Hong, vice president of XJTU introduced the preparation of the league and announced the formation of Northwest Medical Education League. On the conference, he said that the league consists of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Lanzhou University, Xinjiang Medical University, Ningxia Medical University, Qinghai University with its members sharing the idea of voluntariness and equality. The league aims at close cooperation, deep communication, sharing resources, starting reform, and improving the training quality of talents, so as to promote the development of northwest medical education and sanitation. The league decided that the next conference will be held in Ningxia Medical University. The number of the league members is 32, among which 11 of them are medical colleges, 20 of them are medical institutions, and People’s Medical Publishing House is one of them.

The first Silk Road Medical Education Forum includes five themes of reporting which is Medical Education Reform of Taiwan by Professor Zhang Xinshi who is a Honorary Director of Xi’an Jiaotong University Health Science Center and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Deepen Reform of Medical System in Universities by Professor Li Yumin who is the vice president of Lanzhou University, Practice and Perception of Medical Education Reform of Ningxia Medical University by Suntao who is president of Ningxia Medical University, Training Qualified Medical Talents by Liu Yongnian who is vice president of School of Medicine in Qinghai University, The History, Current Situation, and Future of Medical Education in XJTU by Yan Hong.
