From 16th to 21th, March, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and co-sponsored by Xi'an Jiaotong University, the 2015 Chinese Government Scholarship Working Conference of Studying in China was held in Xi'an Jiaotong University. Officers from Department of Education and scholarships colleges of 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regionsattended the meeting.

XJTU President Wang Shuguo delivered the opening speech on the morningof March,17. The Deputy Director of Education Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Fang Jun, CSC Secretary-General, Liu Jinghui, as well as the Director of the Education Science and Culture Office in Finance Department of Education Ministry, Xu Wei delivered keynote speeches respectively.

XJTU began its international students education program in 1959, and was designatedby the Ministry of Education as one of the oldest universities training Chinese government scholarship students. XJTU Scholarship for Overseas Students was established in 1999. In 2013, XJTU was awarded "the First Demonstration Base for Oversea Students to Study in China" by Ministry of Education. In 2014, it won the title of "International Students Education Advanced Collective". In 2014, the total number of oversea students in Xi'an Jiaotong University reached 1992, coming from 86 countries.
