Collaborative Innovation Center of Silk Road Rconomic Belt Research started by XJTU
In January 22, XJTU set up the Collaborative Innovation Center of Silk Road Rconomic Belt Research, joined by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce Department as well as Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The center aims to forge itself into a world-class think tank focusing on the cooperation and innovation research in fields of law, politics, society and culture related to Silk Road Rconomic Belt, cultivating outstanding talents for China and international society. The high-end international forum on the Academic Belt of Silk Road was held correspondingly.
The nameplate of collaborative innovation center of silk road economic belt research was unveiled by Vice director Li Xiaodong,inspector Li Yingming, President of XJTU ,Wang Shuguo and vice director Yang Zhengwei. With the purport of World View, Core of China and Feature of the Silk Road, the centre will serve the Road and Belt Initiative on innovation research, elites cultivation, decision consultation, professional service and settlement of dispute.It will provide the best academic and educational support for the Silk Road Economic Belt construction, and pursue people’s welfare in the countries along the Silk Road and beyond.
On behalf of XJTU, President Wang Shuguo signed a contract to carry out extensive and in-depth collaborative innovation in innovation research, elite cultivation and professional service with ISB research institute of policy from Pakistan, College of Eurasian from Kazakhstan, as well as the research institute of China Issue from India.
The forum consisted of keynote speech and round-table conference. More than twenty experts including Zhang Yuejiao ,a grand judge of appellate body from WTO, Guo Xiangang, vice Dean of Research Institute on China Issue of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Li Gang, director of the Institute of International Service Trade in the Research Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation from Commerce Department, Sun Li, vice director of research institute of Russian Eastern Europe and Central Asia from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as well as Shan Wenhua convener of the center, dean of School of Law from XJTU discussed closely on the construction of “One Road and One Belt”, geopolitics and international configuration, legal governance and system construction, economic cooperation as well as regional development and dialogue among civilizations.
All the experts believed that the construction of “One Road and One Belt” was Chinese government’s major initiative to dispel the misgiving from other countries. It also broke the pattern in which a strong country was bound to pursue hegemony, manifesting the connectivity between China Dream and the World Dream. The Academic Belt of Silk Road was a response to the national strategy for Chinese great rejuvenation. It focused on integrating academic research related to the Silk Road, improving the exchanges between experts from different countries and their ability of knowledge production. Tackling key problems by a collaborative innovation which was transnational, transregional and transboundary, it aimed at providing the foresight and intellectual support for the Road and Belt Initiative.
In the closing ceremony, a university alliance for silk road among high-level universities from home and aboard was initiated by XJTU. With the Academic Belt of Silk Road as its connotation and Unity, Mutual trust, Equality, Mutual benefit, Inclusiveness and Win-win cooperation as its principles, this alliance would facilitate comprehensive cooperation among its member universities in interschool exchange, talents cultivation, scientific research cooperation and think tank.
