On the morning of January 16th, the Chinese American financial delegation headed by Ms Zhu Lijie visited Xi'an Jiaotong University and was met by President Wang Shuguo and Vice President Zhang Hanrong.

President Wang Shuguo welcomed the delegation and introduced the construction project of western technological innovation port, which was launched in line with the national innovation and strategy of constructing the new Silk Road economic belt.  He pointed out that the overall planning of the port will be combined with relevant national polices so as to facilitate the flow of talents, resources and capital, fully take advantage of networks and resources both at home and abroad and establish a new pattern on urban construction and development of universities. He also introduced the model of enterprise, university and research cooperation, function, supporting platform, and the construction of pillar industries of the Smart Town. President Wang Shuguo hopes that broad cooperation can be carried out with representatives of the Chinese American financial delegation and institutes so as to take advantage of the best resources and promote the construction of the port.

Vice president Zhang Hanrong elaborated on the content and goal of the western technological port, including the construction of campuses and cities, introduction of teachers and construction of supporting facilities. He also pointed out that Xi'an Jiaotong University will actively carry out international cooperation, explore new model of cooperation and accelerate the construction of the western technological innovative port.

Ms Ju Lijie introduced the operation model, development goals, and project implementation of the Dragon Gate Investment Partners.  She pointed out that the Dragon Gate Investment Partners aims to explore and take advantage of the cooperation platform and network in America, setting up a docking platform for Chinese innovation projects so that it can be used in domestic markets, achieve transformation and expansion quickly and helps Chinese enterprises to go global. She also illustrated her understanding on the western technological innovation port and put forward her idea of conducting value-adding cooperation concerning the western technological innovation port with Xi'an Jiaotong University both from the longitudinal and cross aspects. She expressed that she is willing to actively participate in the construction of the port with Xi'an Jiaotong University and give full play to Dragon Gate Investment Partners’ value in Xi’an and the Western China.

Later, president Wang Shuguo and Ms Zhu Lijie signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on western technological innovation port between Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Dragon Gate Investment Partners. The delegation also visited Xixian New Area Information Industrial Park.
