XJTU Women’s Rowing Team won the second place in female college students group of 2014 China Cup Rowing Open

During 17th to 20th December, the 2014 China Cup Rowing Open for multiplayer (Sihui station) was held in Sihui of GuangDong province. The student rowing team from XJTU and various professional teams from all over the country, as well as other rowing enthusiasts from different universities, enterprises and clubs, all participated in the sports gathering. XJTU Women's Rowing Team won the second place in the Women's Eights (8+) (500m, 1000m) in college students group.

Compared with the previous China Cup Rowing Open, this year's sports meeting boasted a larger scale, with more participating teams and higher competition level. All 3 categories of athletes, namely professional group, university group and enterprise group, competed in 6 events. 600 athletes of 38 rowing teams from all over the country, including those from HongKong and Macao took part in the Rowing Open. Along with the professional team, there are three university rowing teams from Shaan Xi province, XJTU, The Fourth Military Medical University and Xidian University, competing for Women's Eights (8+) and Men's Eights (8+) of university group.

On the Award Ceremony in the evening of 20th December, XJTU Rowing Team was invited to sing the song Rowing Joyous Song, which was composed by GongHui, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of XJTU and Director of University Committee of China Rowing Association. The vigorous performance and the MV which recorded training of the rowing team impressed the audience, arousing warm applauses.

One women's team and one men's team from XJTU Student Rowing Team respectively participated in Women's Eights (8+) and Men's Eights (8+) (500m, 1000m). The players said that hard training and intensive competition not only helped them win the honor, but also enhanced their comprehension of rowing and enabled them to learn more about teammate friendship and fighting spirit. ZhangKehao, honoree of the Men's Eights (8+) and a senior member of the rowing team, sent words to the new members, hoping them to take the China Cup as the start point of their future rowing life and enjoy their youth and enthusiasm with the Team.
