At 7 p.m., November 19, the First Conference Hall at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering gathered faculty and students and alumni. The First Conferral Ceremony of the XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation, set up by the 1993-year alumni of Electronics Department, was held. Leaders from XJTU Education Foundation, Department of Alumni Relations, and School of Electronic and Information Engineering, the 1993-year alumni of Electronics Department, members of XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation, and outstanding undergraduates of Electronics and Microelectronics Departments etc attended the ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Professor XU Youlong, Director of XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation and Chair of Department of Electronics Science and Technology.

Mr. LIU Chunliang, the president of XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation and the party secretary of School of Electronic and Information Engineering introduced the history and the future visions of the foundation from the educational and disciplinary perspectives.

Alumnus SUN Junyou, the vice president of XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation and the general manager of Beijing Tiancheng Science and Technology Limited Company shared his learning and growth at XJTU and his career with the attending faculty and students. On behalf of the 38 1993-year alumni initiating the foundation, he expressed their hope, that is, to encourage XJTU alumni to honor the tradition "when you drink water, think of its source" to support the XJTU undertakings.

Mr. ZHAO Weibin, the secretary general of the XJTU Education Foundation expressed sincere gratitude to alumni creating the foundation, speaking highly of the righteous actions of those alumni in support of education. He promised to use and manage the fund rationally to make a difference at XJTU.

Ms. TAN Yanhong from Department of Alumni Relations presented a couple of model alumni from the electronics department supporting XJTU education and inspiring students to honor XJTU with gratitude.

The 2014 graduate student CHEN Peng who received the foundation made a speech. He vowed to work even harder and carry on the tradition to support XJTU. The 2013 undergraduate DONG Ming from the electronics department shared the learning and life of CHEN Peng and inspired the attending students to learn from him.

XJTU Electronics Alumni Siyuan Foundation was set up in 2013 by the 1993 alumni of electronics department to foster the disciplinary excellence of electronic science &technology and microelectronics programs. Financial supports are created for excellent master candidates and eventually for impoverished alumni. It is the first fund created by XJTU in the fund-raising pattern. The fund will be granted in the form of scholarships. The goal is to encourage more alumni into the initiative to support XJTU, sustain the foundation, and carry on the tradition of returning to XJTU with educational support.
