The conferment meeting of He Liang and He Li Prize in 2014 was held in Beijing. The member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and the vice premier of the State Council Liu Yandong, the vice president of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress Chen Zhu and the vice president of CPPCC and the Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang attended the meeting and conferred the prizes to the nominees. Academician Jiang Zhuangde from the School of Mechanical Engineering got the Prize for Science and Technology Advancement of He Liang and He Li Fund. At the meeting, 52 nominees in science and technology were conferred "the Prize for Science and Technology Achievements", "the Prize for Science and Technology Advancement" and "the Prize for Science and Technology Innovation".

He Li and He Liang Fund is a charity fund for awarding science and technology created by He Shanheng, LiangJin Qiuju, He Tian and Li Guowei, the patriotic financial industrialists in Hong Kong, with a donation of 400 million Hong Kong dollars to award the scientists in mainland China for scientific and technological contributions. Since the creation of the He Liang and He Li Fund in 1994, it has strengthened its credibility and authority. It has become a signature fund to stimulate the creativity of scientific and technological researchers and promote the innovation of science and technology. It has played a major role in boosting the science and technology cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao and fostering growth and development. He Liang and He Li Fund made assessments one time a year. The reward for "the Prize for Science and Technology Achievement" is one million Hong Kong Dollars. The reward for "the Prize for Science and Technology Advancement" and "the Prize for Science and Technology Innovation" is 200,000 Hong Kong Dollars respectively. "The Prize for Science and Technology Advancement" set up 17 prizes classified by disciplines and is conferred to those who have made great inventions, discoveries and outcomes in science and technology.
