From November 13 to 15, the 6th Sino-Korea University Presidents Forum was held in Chongqing University. 22 Chinese universities including Beijing University, Nanjing University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Chongqing University and 15 Korean counterparts including Hanyang University, Konkukn University, Kyung Hee University and Busan University attended the forum. The vice president from the International Department of Ministry of Education Chen Yinghui, the general consul of the General Consulate of Korea to Chengdu and director general from the Ministry of Education of Korea Pei Chenggen attended the opening ceremony. The XJTU Vice President Xi Guang attended the forum and delivered a wonderful speech.

During the forum, the presidents from Chinese and Korean universities deeply discussed and shared their experiences on the three topics, including the integration of production, study and research, talent training model and the social responsibilities of universities in the forms of keynote speeches and group discussion.

Vice president Xi Guang introduced the practice and experiences on the XJTU's integration of production, study and research in detail using live cases. He pointed out, the core issue of the integration of production, study and research is that the universities, enterprises and governmental bodies coordinate with one another closely. As the market economy of China is refined and the governmental functions are transformed, production, study and research should be developed from government-dominated to university-dominated. As to the challenges faced by the production, study and research development of universities, Vice President Xi Guang said, production, study and research not only need development capacity, but also marketing techniques; not only knowledge, but also knowledge management; attentions should be paid not only to the structure of research team, but also external cooperation and harnessing structure; not only to realize commercial application, but also stick to academic research orientation.

During the forum, Vice President Xi Guang talked with the president of Hanyang University Lin Dehao, the president of Konkuk University Li Xingfu and the president of Busan University Jin Qixie .The Chinese universities and Korean universities expressed that they were willing to take the Sino-Korea Presidents Forum as the conjuncture, build and further deepen the cooperation relationship by student exchange and joint research, etc.
