The final of "Creating Setup" National University Entrepreneurship Contest (originally "Challenge Cup" ) was held in Huazhong University of Science and Technology from November the 1st to 4th. XJTU students got one gold prize, four silver prizes and one bronze prize. Their total score ranked the 6th among all the universities. Finally, XJTU students secured the "Trophy Cup". The contest is hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League Committee, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology and All-China Students' Federation, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Informationization the State-owned Asset Supervision and Management Commission of the State Council and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Communist Youth League of Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the East Lake New Technology Development Zone of Wuhan co-organized the contest.

The awards are given in the closing ceremony. The attendees included the following: the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League Qin Yizhi, the chairman of Hubei Province People's Political Consultative Conference Yang Song, the vice minister of Human Resource and Social Security and director general of the National Civil Servant Bureau Xin Changxing, the Party Organization Member of the Ministry of Education and minister assistant Lin Huiqing, the party organization member of China Association for Science and Technology and the curator of the China Science and Technology Museum Shu Wei and the secretary of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China Fu Zhenbang. The alumnus of XJTU, the chairman of Qihu 360 Company and the vice director of the Contest Fund Committee Zhou Hongwei was invited to deliver a vivid opening lecture on entrepreneurship development to the participants during the opening ceremony.

Adapt to Changes and Face Challenge

In order to adapt to the development of university students' entrepreneurship, the contest reform decision was made by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology and All-China Students' Federation. Starting from 2014, two new competitions focused on practices and welfare were added to the original "Challenge Cup" designing contest to form new "Youth Setup".

Faced the brand-new contest system, the XJTU Communist Youth League Committee carefully summarized the past experiences, deeply studied the features of the newly added contests, actively encouraged the participation of XJTU student young alumni, laying a firm foundation for the upcoming contest.

According to a preliminary statistics of the contest Organization Committee, over 2000 universities joined in. There were nearly 100 thousand works on the university-level nearly 20 thousand on the the provincial-level. 669 works from 32 provinces municipalities and autonomous regions of China and Hong Kong and Macao, entered for the final round after regional selections. Among these, 385 works from 200 universities in mainland China and 9 from Hong Kong and Macao participated in the final in Wuhan. The final demonstrated quite fierce competition. 6 projects of XJTU students including the works "Shaanxi Xuanxing Electronic Science and Technology Co., ltd" went out of tight encirclement and entered the national final. In the end, they got one gold prize, four silver prizes and one bronze prize and they were also awarded the "Trophy Cup".

Refine Organization and Upgrade Quality

XJTU began to prepare the contest in October 2013. The organization work was mainly shouldered by XJTU Communist Youth League Committee under the great support of the Department of Scientific Research, Department for Undergraduate Education, Student Career Development Center, School of Management, National University Science and Technology Park, Alumni Department, Graduate School and relevant schools and colleges. Experts with rich entrepreneurship and guiding experiences such as national special judges, governmental fiscal officials and market investment experts were invited to systematically train the students how to write business plan on entrepreneurship, the core capacity construction of entrepreneurship team, project display, reply skills and commercial etiquettes. Many young entrepreneurship alumni came back to their alma mater, actively guided and judged the participating entrepreneurship team and they put forward valuable improving suggestions in connection with their own entrepreneurship experiences.

The young entrepreneurship alumni in "West Young Master" and "Lindian 3D" did not forget to thank their alma mater in the process of their own rapid growth. They overcome the difficulties like geographic location limitation and the conflict between the contest preparing tasks and their own entrepreneurship work and actively took part in entrepreneurship practice challenge contest. Though faced with study pressures, the students carefully prepared the contest, continually perfected their works and actively devoted themselves to the entrepreneurship practice. They trained their capacities, fostered their qualities and acquired growth. Selected carefully by the judging experts, after 9 rounds of reviews and replies, the Communist Youth League Committee of XJTU finally chose 6 works among 117 and let them take part in "Youth Setup" National University Students Entrepreneurship Contest in 2014 on behalf of XJTU.

Integrate Resources and Boost Innovation

The XJTU Communist Youth League Committee kept on the notion of "Four in One": education, training, practice and contest are integrated as a whole. Projects like "MM One Million Young Undertaking Plan", "KAB Project" and "Undertaking Heroes Entering the Campus" were strongly pushed forward. Salons, fora and report meetings of various layers in various fields were held. During the 2013-2014AY internship summer session, "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Training Camp" was initiated to create a good atmosphere for students' entrepreneurship development. The camp is opened as a response to XJTU "Comprehensive Capacity Upgrading Plan" in connection with the students' soaring enthusiasm for entrepreneurship development.

XJTU Communist Youth League Committee actively coordinated the relevant departments in and out of XJTU, fully integrated and brought the respective advantages into play, coordinated the links like organizing and mobilizing, project selection, training and tutorship and incubation and support and realized the whole process training of entrepreneurship dissemination, consciousness enlightenment, capacity upgrading and practice support. In recent years, XJTU got gold prizes and silver prizes in the contests like "Challenge Cup" and the Annual Meeting of National University Students Innovation and and China Hangzhou University Students Contest. In addition, more and more projects wereh by investment institutions. Over 10 projects were registered, companies were set up and over five million was received as investment.

2014 "Youth Setup" National University Students Entrepreneurship Contest designed a special contest for MBA and mobile Internet. XJTU "Cool 3D Scanning and Printing Science and Technology" got the silver prize in MBA competition. The projects like "Chart Stripe Location Sociality" and "Mobile Internet Medical Software" got the silver prize and bronze prize in mobile Internet competition.

China will become strong with the young entrepreneurs. An innovation and entrepreneurship seed will surely take root, sprout, bloom and bear fruits on XJTU fertile land. Many wonderful entrepreneurship stories will surely be written by XJTU students.
