On the afternoon of October 29, a delegation from the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) led by its director, Mr. Pierre Koch, together with Mr. Michel Legault, the director of the International Affairs Office, and Dr. Gong Ling, the chief of the Asian Program of the Department of International Relations, visited XJTU. President Wang Shuguo and Vice President Xi Guang met with the visiting guests in room 107 of the Science Hall where they discussed how the two universities could further deepen and expand their cooperation.

President Wang outlined the exchange and cooperation programs, as well as student exchanges currently ongoing between XJTU and UTT and other universities in France. He said he hoped that the two parties would continue to cooperate and to promote student exchanges and cooperative research programs. Director Koch gave a presentation on the structure and research facilities at UTT, and identified those disciplines in which it is particularly strong. He had high praise for on the XJTU exchange students attending UTT. He added that the two parties would talk further about cooperation matters and how to deepen the cooperative relationship in various disciplines.

After the meeting, the XJTU students who took part in French UTT program, accompanied director Koch on a tour of the campus and a visit to the XJTU History Museum.
