Recently, the American Law Institute publicized the list of newly elected members. Professor Shan Wenhua of XJTU was one of four foreign members on the list.

The American Law Institute was founded in 1923 and it is the special organization that has the highest level and the biggest influence in the field of law and it is one of the important legal institutions America.

Professor Shan is the third elected member of the institute to come from China. The other two are Dr. Xu Chuanxi, the vice president of the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences and a professor at Harvard University, and Professor Wang Zhenmin, the president of the School of Law of Tsinghua University and a member of the Basic Law Commission of HKSAR.
