On November 19, 2013, a seminar on the Sino-Euro Global Value Chain Seminar was held in Beijing. The seminar was jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC, XJTU and the General Trade Department of EU the Council. Among those addressing the seminar were: the deputy minister of commerce Zhang Xiangchen, the member of standing committee of NPC and XJTU vice president Jiang Zhuangde, and the vice president for General Trade Department of the EU Council Jo o Aguiara Machado.

Vice President Jiang Zhuangde said that XJTU would continue to participate actively in innovative cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, the General Trade Department of the EU Council and other research institutes and enterprises, both domestic and international, concerning the global value chain and other issues in the area of international economics and trade.

Professor Feng Zongxian of the School of Economics and Finance attended the seminar as a Chinese expert and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Research Methods and Case Studies on the Global Value Chain of Chinese Automobile Industry."
