On May 8, a 7-member student delegation from the UK's Cambridge University visited XJTU. In the afternoon, the representatives of Graduate Student Union talked with the visitors in the XJTU library. The two delegations engaged in a lively discussion of issues such as the organization and management of student leagues, as well as research and study life of Chinese and foreign students.

After that, the delegation visited the Western Move Museum, the Qin Opera Museum and XJTU Museum. During their visits, the Cambridge students exhibited a deep interest in the history of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and of Shaanxi province, constantly posing questions to their guides. In the Qin Opera Museum, the visitors viewed a performance by the celebrated Qin opera performer Li Shufang. Then the delegation from Cambridge University visited the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Foreign Language and the School of Economics and Finance.
